MAGEA9 was identified by molecular methods, by probing cosmid libraries with MAGE1 sequence (De Plaen, et al. 1994 PMID: 7927540).
Gene structure and chromosomal localization
Analysis of somatic human-hamster cell hybrids showed that MAGEA9 is located in Xq28 (Rogner et al., 1995 PMID: 8575766).
