Protein function and interaction
TEX14 is required for the formation of intercellular bridges during germ cell cytokinesis in vertebrates (Greenbaum et al., 2006 PMID: 16549803). In mouse, TEX14 co-localizes with the centralspindlin complex, mitotic kinesin-like protein 1 (MKLP1) and male germ cell Rac GTPase-activating protein (MgcRacGAP) and converts these midbody matrix proteins into stable intercellular bridge components (Greenbaum et al., 2007 PMID: 17383626).
