Protein function and interaction
DMRT1 belongs to the DMRT family which members encode a zinc-finger-like DNA-binding motif (DM domain). DMRT1 is critical for testis development (Raymond et al., 1998 PMID: 9490411; Raymond et al., 1999 PMID:10332030). DMRT1 shows a key role in the sexually dimorphic regulation of the mitosis-meiosis switch (Jørgensen et al., 2012 PMID:22899867).
