Protein function and interaction
LDHC catalyzes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-linked interconversion alpha-ketoacid in equilibrium alpha-hydroxyacid with a variety of compounds; may play a role in processes which provide energy to spermatozoa (Blanco, 1980 PMID: 7382246).
LDHC expression in cancer cells is regulated by the transcription factors Sp1 and CREB and promoter CpG island methylation (Tang & Goldberg, 2008 PMID: 18930904).
