Protein function and interaction
IGF2BP3 (IMP-3) is a cytoplasmic 5’ UTR-binding proteins that participates in the physiological regulation of IGF-II production.(Nielsen et al., 1999 PMID: 9891060 by similarity). IMP-3 plays a critical role in regulation of cell proliferation via an IGF-II-dependent pathway (Liao et al., 2005 PMID: 15753088). IMP-3 is involved in cell adhesion and invadopodia formation (Vikesaa et al., 2006 PMID: 16541107). IMP-3 gene mutation may be involved in Silver-Russell syndrome (Monk et al., 2002 PMID: 12161597).
