Protein function and interaction
SPAG4 complexes specifically with Odf1 (flagellum outer dense fiber peptide) and functions as a molecular link between ODF and the axoneme. It is suggested that Spag4 protein assists during the organization and assembly of ODFs in the elongating spermatids. (by similarity Shao et al., 1999 PMID: 10373309 ) .
