It was found a structural ATP-independent role for BRDT in inducing the condensation of acetylated chromatin (Pivot-Pajot et al., 2003. PMID: 12861021) (by similarity). BRDT gene may have an important role in the process of spermatogenesis and may be correlated with male infertility.(Zheng et al., 2005 PMID: 15647849).
