Protein function and interaction
The strong prediction of the presence of transmembrane domains in TPTE suggests that the encoded protein could be a membrane-linked factor, involved in signal transduction, particularly important in spermatogenesis or the endocrine function of the testis (Chen et al, 1999 PMID: 10598804).
