Protein function and interaction
TSPY plays an important role in the control of cell cycle progression, cell proliferation, and tumorigenesis (Oram et al, 2006 PMID: 16762081). TSPY binds competitively to cyclin B and colocalizes with cyclin B1 during the cell cycle, particularly on the mitotic spindles at metaphase (Li et al., 2008 PMID: 18591933). The yeast two-hybrid screen identified the translation elongation factor eEF1A as a binding partner for TSPY (Kido et al., 2008 PMID: 18649364).
