Immune response
Gene:
MAGEA4 (official gene symbol)Other symbol:
MAGEA4CT family:
CT1CT identifier:
CT1.4Aliases from NCBI:
MAGE-41 , MAGE-X2 , MAGE4 , MAGE4A , MAGE4B , MGC21336Humoral immune response
MAGEA4 was identified by SEREX (Chen et al., 1998).
Spontaneous humoral immune responses against MAGEA4 have been detected in cancer patients.

Cellular immune response
CD4 T-cell responses against MAGEA4 were observed in in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma patients (Cesson et al., 2010 PMID: 20857101). MAGE-A4-specific CD8 and CD4 T cells were expanded from healthy donors and Hodgkin lymphoma patients (Cruz et al., 2011 PMID: 21908573). CD8+ T cell epitope derived from MAGEA4 was identified in esophageal carcinoma (Wu et al., 2011 PMID: 21815906).
The following MAGEA4 epitopes recognized by T cells have been identified after stimulation of lymphocytes in vitro (Cancer Immunity Peptide Database).
