Cellular immune response
MAGEA1 was discovered by its ability to be recognized by CTLs (Traversari et al., 1992).
Naturally occuring cellular immune reponses against MAGEA1 are low and not frequently detected in cancer patients. Nevertheless several MAGEA1 epitopes recognized by T cells have been identified after stimulation of lymphocytes in vitro.(Cancer Immunity Peptide Database)
